I had a great time with this family as another daughter graduated! This beautiful gal has a future that is promising and bright. So it was fitting to take photos by this grain elevator that was named Promise for a movie set. The abandoned town of Brooking is a neat location with the old train bridge, elevator and the rolling, green hills. I was excited when they suggested this area for Carley’s graduation photos and to go back to this gorgeous prairie setting. At the request of Carley, there were 3 ladies dressed up in their graduation gowns for part of the session. I absolutely loved this fun idea!! Aren’t they a wonderful mother and sister to go along with this?!? There was lots of happy laughter and admiring. Not long into the session we had to head for cover in a downpour. I tease that they are rain magnets when we are together! Thankfully that blew over and they were good sports to carry on and then just as we finished up it started to sprinkle again.
Last week – a month after we met in Brooking – was Weyburn’s graduation day. When it’s a busy day with a flurry of celebratory activities and fun festivities, it works really well to capture most of the graduation portraits another day. Then squeeze in a bit of time on graduation day when their special, loved ones are surrounding them and applauding this great accomplishment! There were a few spits of rain and a whole lot of happy moments!! Congratulations Carley!
