Some trips are just better without a definite plan. With people who enjoy spontaneous adventures on a whim. We left Calgary for a little cabin in the woods at Halcyon Hot Springs Village & Spa. It’s the perfect escape and draws us back to enjoy the most beautiful hot springs overlooking Arrow Lake and the Monashee mountain range. It is cozy, relaxing and serene. And thinking you have a stove top but really only have a BBQ to cook your pasta adds some fun and cooking creativity.

Anyone following my instagram feed (jenelle_beauti) knows I ~~was obsessed with~~ enjoyed constantly taking iPhone photos. However, these photos were all taken with my camera, I did have it on me just as much! Driving along surrounded by stunning scenery I couldn’t help myself. Mountains, trees, lakes and rivers. Absorbing all the beauty. Nature is amazing. The sun seemed to usually be shining and the days were warm. The only disappointment was not being able to snowboard but spending the afternoon in the hot pools when it was +25 in the sun wasn’t a hardship.

Baby Rose | newborn

Our newest niece made her appearance to the world on April 1st. Baby Rose. We met her at just 5 days old when we were out to Calgary. A very cute baby girl. Being held and loved by everyone around her. It was really sweet to watch her older siblings and cousins take their turn for a cuddle, a kiss on her forehead or just take a peek at her beautiful face. When wrapped up and cuddled she seemed to sleep endlessly. Thank you Janelle for asking me to photograph your newest addition, it is enjoyable to photograph a newborn baby when it’s my sweet little niece!

Is she not totally smiling for me??!! She did more than once too. Happy baby!

It’s Officially Spring!

I’m glad for a little urge inside to rebrand and create a natural, fresh look for my business that will better reflect where I am now, my vision and direction. Something fresh, something organic. A lot of researching and brainstorming later, I am thrilled to unveil the new look. Especially now that it is officially springtime! A season of renewal and growth. It feels fantastic to launch the updated look heading into a new shooting season! I’m excited for new printed materials and updated packaging with a natural, handmade feel. But even more looking forward to wonderful people I will photograph and stories to tell thru photographs, captured from a natural approach. I have kept a hint of red in my branding. It’s a color that stands out to me. Red represents the heart. It’s life. Love, beauty, passion. These are the feelings and connections I want to capture, it brings so many other beautiful emotions with it. From the heart of BEAUTI photography, thank you for all your love and continued support – I’m excited and inspired!

It was a beautiful first day of spring and I was glad for a chance to get outside with my camera. I needed a break from the computer it’s not that part of my business changes is to be a landscape and wildlife photographer! I was amused by the noisy geese on our pond entertaining our pups.

Upcoming Fundraiser Events

When welcomed so wonderfully to this area since moving here in the summer, how could I not give back to the community especially for causes like these two fundraisers.

BEAUTI photography is donating a Portrait Session to each fundraiser which will be auctioned, either live or silent, during their evening. I’m glad to donate to these fundraisers and look forward to photographing the highest bidders knowing the great benefits of these events!

~ 26th Annual Oungre Memorial Regional Park fundraiser. Friday, March 30th. Tickets are sold out but you can ask to be put on the waiting list if any come available. If you have 2 tickets that you don’t need, please let me know! This is the main fundraising event for the park and sounds like a successful event. Being less than 10 minutes drive to this recreation centre has already proven valuable for us and we are fortunate to have a park like this nearby.

~ 1st Annual Ladies Night by the Weyburn Fire Department. Saturday, April 14th. Details and ticket information are on their website. All proceeds go to the purchase of a thermal imaging camera which allows firefighters to locate persons and sources of heat in a smoke filled environment.

~ Another event I recommend picking up tickets for is ”PIRATES OF THE CUREibean 2nd ANNUAL ALL ABOARD FOR A CURE LADIES NIGHT OUT!! Tickets are now on sale!! $15 advance or $20 at the door! May 4th, 2012 at the Weyburn Curling Rink!! Silent auction, Door prizes 50/50, Photobooth, shopping and much more!! Bring all your best gals out for a great evening for a worthwhile cause!! Tickets available at PHARMASAVE POSTAL COUNTER, CANADIAN TIRE or from any team member! All Proceeds go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation!!” There will be a special promotion from BEAUTI photography to watch for in the goody bags too.

Happy Valentine’s Day

It was a party for the kids. A Valentine’s brunch party to start off the weekend. They filled our home with so much cuteness and playful noise! Happy babies and happy kids. There are incredible “big” people in their lives, so thoughtful and wonderful to be around. I really enjoy to entertain, not because I feel that I am any great host. These photos don’t show the beautiful, wonderful people that came but it really is the guests that made it a fabulous party!

What’s Your Language ?

I wish I could slow down 2012 a bit. Here we are already less than a week from Valentine’s Day. At least this year, in the month of love, we do get a bonus day.

A link on a blog led to a link to another blog to a link to a website…..bringing me to 5 Love Languages. We were given the book, How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate, as a wedding gift. Expressing and showing love. In the language that each understands. Filling love tanks. And it’s not just a concept that applies to couples. But on their website they have a challenge starting on Valentine’s Day. To love your spouse according to their love language for 5 weeks. Who needs chocolates, roses, a card…unless receiving gifts of course is the language you understand. If you’re up for the challenge ~ it takes a few minutes to determine your love language and you can enjoy having your love tank filled to the brim! I think it’s a neat idea. To be really giving what someone needs.

January Photo Adventure

A couple weeks back while these two stayed with us, we headed off on a photo adventure. Not sure where we’d end up but headed to the hills nearby. Well above zero and not having snow, it was splendid to be out in the sunshine. Mesmerized by the wind blowing the golden grasses, breathing in the quietness, enjoying the vast expanse of our prairie scenery, hearing giggles of these sweet kids running and watching the things that attracted their attention for even a moment. A good memory of our time together.
