It’s really wonderful when you hear the bride say a few times on their wedding day that this is everything she has dreamed of!! There was so much thought and planning that went into their beautiful celebration. Exactly 6 months before on Christmas Eve Jason proposed to Jennifer in the Rogers Pass and we captured their engagement photos. It makes a person smile to see your friends very happily in love! We were sad back when Jason made the move to British Columbia from Cochrane but then getting to know this beautiful, lovely lady that caught his eye (and captured his heart!) and now to have witnessed the beginning of their marriage is awesome! Of course when we go to visit we want to move out there too!
As soon as the Farmer’s Almanac came out they looked at summer dates they were considering for a backyard wedding and chose well as it ended up being the perfect day! A sunshine filled day and the hottest day of the summer at that point for Salmon Arm too. They had exciting, busy months leading up to the special day and it was fun to hear their ideas as Jenn was great at updating me then to see things come together and capture more of their love story. It was a lot of work and helping hands, all worth it for the gorgeous end result and a beautiful setting to become husband + wife and celebrate their love and happiness!
I know the photos will do a better job of showing their day than me trying to put words together to describe the beautiful, happy day that is was. Settle in for some scrolling as it’s a huge blog post of their important, meaningful day, the gorgeous details and most of all moments of happiness, love and wedded bliss!!!
We started off the morning at Alter Ego hair salon where the gals were getting hair and makeup done.
Then back to the house on the property where they were married to finish getting ready. Jennifer wore beautiful pearls that were her Grandma’s. She was a stunning bride, always a beauty so that was no surprise!! I loved the bridesmaid dress choices that complimented each other so well! These gals were super sweet as they helped the bride prepare for her day.
Jason is just one of the most chill, great guys you can know! The circle of guys that grew up together by Water Valley are the best and I’m lucky to have one of them as my husband too!!
Outdoor ceremonies have such a lovely feel being surrounded by nature and with their wedding being in the yard of an incredible couple, who are like second parents to the bride, their ceremony setting was beautiful and felt cozy nestled in the tall spruce and cedar trees. It was amazing!
As the best man said in his speech, how Canadian for a snowmobiler to find love at Tim Hortons! The gorgeous girl that worked there during university kept his coffee addiction game strong!
The rustic, natural theme with touches of lace, burlap and florals made for a beautiful reception area. This yard could easily be rented out for wedding regularly! It was amazing how everything was situated and all so pretty! Credit goes to the bride and her mother for the pretty ribbon/lace backdrop for the head table. They spent hours creating the many pretty details that were used. We had a fun evening at the CKMP lodge, where a group of us friends stayed, creating the floral chandelier. Foraging fresh cedar and boxwood right from the forest.
We snuck off from the reception at sunset for more portraits of the bride and groom. So amazing and beautiful! I love when couples are willing to do this. They ran and danced in the hayfield and the soft sunlight added to the romantic feel. Jason recently had this Chevy truck restored. A cool, unique wedding day vehicle!
Back to the reception for speeches, dancing and an enjoyable time with their families + friends! Lots of laughter and an evening filled with happy moments and special memories!
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Ribi! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness and look forward to times we can spend together with you!!! Thank you for your friendship and having us share in and document your beautiful beginning as husband + wife!
