Where does a person even begin in describing this gorgeous, happy wedding day?! I’m glad to be a storyteller through photographs which they say is worth a thousand words. The photos will explain better than I can put into words how wonderful this couple and their love really is. We thoroughly enjoyed documenting their first day as husband + wife and appreciate the kindness this sweet couple and their families show to us.
Their wedding took place at the most picturesque hotel in Saskatoon. The magnificent, castle-looking exterior and the elegant details of the interior were a beautiful setting for a very special day. I feel like every detail was well planned and beautifully carried out. The ladies had their hair + makeup done in the bride’s hotel suite as the guys were getting ready in another suite down the hall. The bride had something old, new, borrowed and blue that were all thoughtfully chosen and Lauren look absolutely incredible! As did the groom and I have to point out how amazing his hair looked. A very significant part of their day was seeing each other in the privacy of the bride’s suite prior to their ceremony. Along with saying their vows, the first look was a part of their day they were anticipating the most. Although Kurtis teased Lauren her favorite moment would be cutting the cake because she has a sweet tooth. Their ceremony was lovely and you could see and feel the love as their families + closest friends witnessed the lifelong commitment they made. As the bride’s twin brother was the one that brought these two together, it was really nice he gave the wedding bands. The smiles grew bigger as they were introduced as Saskatoon’s newest married couple!
There was a heavy snowfall the morning of their wedding. Big, fluffy flakes fell all morning and continued until about the time we headed out in the afternoon with the bridal party for portraits then the snow let up and provided us with stunning, wintery scenery. Having met while they were both studying at the U of S, we stopped by the campus then headed to a city park that was filled with rows of snowy evergreen trees. I’m glad they were willing to brave the chilly weather for photos with the snowy backdrops. I loved the variation of the wedding parties’ attire and this sweet, caring bride gifted shawls to her bridesmaids along with having one knit for herself. I must also mention the florals that were beyond amazing! From the bouquets to the flower crowns and boutonnieres, it was all perfection!! The ladies looked like snow queens out in the snow with their pretty flower crowns! There’s something about winter and fresh snow that has a magical look along with the venue they chose. The snowstorm couldn’t have been more timely. Thanks to the limo driver for letting me squeeze in one last location across the river from the Bess before heading back for their reception in the William Pascoe Ballroom that was a delightful celebration. I feel like the laughter of the wedding party and guests will stay in my mind for a long time. They had the best speeches and the MC’s did a fantastic job and were very entertaining. All in all, it was a top notch and memorable wedding!
Congratulations Kurtis + Lauren, it was a pleasure to be part of your wedding day and we wish you a lifetime of love, happiness and fun adventures together!!! You are truly an incredible couple and we appreciate that you have become friends to us!
