Each month I plan to share a little of a personal project I am doing in 2016. One of the best things about living in the country on the Saskatchewan prairies is our view of these incredible skies! Instead of only getting a shot on my iPhone I am making a conscious effort this year to capture the gorgeous, colourful, lively skies with my professional camera. I plan to create a photo book with a collection of favorite images at the end of the year. So at the end of each month or beginning of the next I will share a few favorite captures from that month. Sharing here will also hold me accountable and help to keep me consistent throughout the year!
Here we are at the halfway mark of 2016. Already halfway around the sun for another year. The end of my favorite month. It seems to always be a crazy busy month but I love summer and it’s officially summer in June!! As well as being my birthday month. The second photo was driving home after going out for dinner on my birthday and we had to pull over because the sky was so beautiful! Our colorful sunset skies are amazing!! I captured the moon on the nite of the summer solstice which was also a full moon this year. The canola crops are bright and cheerful in full bloom and we’ve been getting regular rains so overall the crops look fantastic. The rainclouds look much less harsh with the yellow blooms in the foreground.
Happy Canada Day!! I’m grateful and proud to live in our beautiful country enjoying our fantastic prairie skies!
