What does BEAUTI mean to you?

beau-ty (n.pl.) Any of those attributes of form, sound, color, character, behavior, achievement, etc., which give pleasure and gratification to the senses or to the mind. Something excellent of its kind.

BEAUTI is more than physical attractiveness. BEAUTI surrounds us in many forms.

    Discovering. Cherishing. Capturing.

Amy | Manitoba Graduation

This is just so hard to believe.  The sweet little girl that I nannied when she went off to kindergarten has grown into this beautiful, incredible lady.  Beautiful in every way!  And still as sweet as can be!!  High school graduation day has now just come and gone.  Wow!!

Her dress is absolutely stunning and perfectly matches her vibrant, fun personality.  She has a beautiful sparkle like the jewels on her dress.  Amy had lots of great ideas to incorporate into her photo session and celebrate this life accomplishment.  Growing up on a busy farm and loving to get out and help we started off in the bucket of a John Deere tractor.  It’s no surprise this farm girl is heading off to study agriculture in September.  And I know will excel in anything she chooses to do in life.  Congratulations to a very lovely girl and best wishes for many more successes in the future!!  Enjoy your weekend at the lake celebrating!

There were actually 2 graduates at their house this week, grade 9 and high school!

Pizzey family | Manitoba

The past month has really flown by with several photo shoots away from home.  One of which was a roadtrip to Manitoba to visit + photograph this wonderful family.  They are one of my all time favorite families!!  Straight out of high school my cousin asked me to come nanny for them during harvest.  There were only 4 kids then and when I went back for just a shorter time a couple years later another baby had been added to their family.  I have so many great memories of my time there!  Amazing parents and some of the most incredible, talented, brilliant kids I know!  We have talked for a bit about updating their family photos and we had a beautiful, fun evening together!!  Along with capturing their second child graduating which I will share soon too!  I really cannot believe how fast the time has gone!  But thru the years they have kept a special place in my heart!!  And always will!

We ended with photos of the kids including something that is special for them right now

Chad + Britany | Engagement

In just a few weeks these two will be saying ‘I do’!!  They are a very enjoyable couple and easy to be around.  With a love + happiness that lights up one another’s being.  Their gorgeous farmyard is where their wedding will be held in July and I know it will be an amazing day!  I love all the big trees and everything is so lush this time of year.  It was the perfect location for their engagement session, a familiar place they spend time together and are making their own.

They recently rescued the dog who feels very at home here now too!

I loved Britany’s idea to bring out this sofa she recently picked up, a great spot to cuddle up!  I can’t wait to see all that is being put together for their wedding!!  The framed photos is a special shower gift to Britany from her Mom, all of them taken around the farm where she grew up.

Dave + Karey | Inspirational Shoot

It is wonderful + exciting to see an idea come together so beautifully like this inspirational shoot did!  Early in the year, I brainstormed with Laurie about a creative shoot and to have another excuse to get together.  We each created an inspiration board and then collaborated with a team of talented + creative ladies to bring our ideas to fruition.  They executed our vision for this spring inspired session so well!  It felt so different for both of us as photographers to basically just show up to the shoot once we had the initial ideas in place.  We are used to being much more involved in the planning process so this was a treat to show up to things put together so well and really enjoy the time together + behind our cameras!  This is one of the benefits of working with someone like Sara who is starting up a wedding planning business, Devoted Elegance.  Our model couple Dave + Karey were superb, totally sweet together and their outfits choices were amazing and fit perfectly with our vision!

Thank you to each one that put so much time, heart and enthusiasm into making this shoot a success and a very enjoyable evening!!

Make sure to head over to look at laurie ann photography’s blog post too.  I had a great time shooting alongside Laurie and her husband Andrew again!

Aron + Kaitlin | Estevan, Sk Wedding

I could not have hoped for a more wonderful couple and beautiful day to start off this summer’s weddings with!  Aron + Kaitlin are wonderful, happy and so in love and their wedding day was an absolute joy to be a part of!  We started with a very hearty welcome into the bride’s parents home and Kaitlin was one of the most relaxed, fully prepared brides I have known!!  Take note of the hands lacing up the bride’s dress.  Kaitlin’s dad was hands on – literally – with helping plan and getting ready for their special day.  She has a special bond with her parents and you can see by the involvement and support in their lives.  They proudly walked her down the aisle and handed her off to the man that they know will do everything he can to take care of their incredible daughter!  You couldn’t help but smile watching these two!  It was clearly shown that they are surrounded by so many who love and support them.  My favorite parts of the day were stepping back and capturing them interacting as they do.  In genuine love and happiness.  Thank you so much Aron + Kaitlin for having us share in your amazing wedding!  Congratulations and wishes for many happy, wonderful years together!!

Officially Mr + Mrs!!

There were lots of special elements like on her bouquet for their ‘key to my heart’ theme.

A 30 second kiss to end their first dance as husband + wife!
