• hello and welcome!

What does BEAUTI mean to you?

beau-ty (n.pl.) Any of those attributes of form, sound, color, character, behavior, achievement, etc., which give pleasure and gratification to the senses or to the mind. Something excellent of its kind.

BEAUTI is more than physical attractiveness. BEAUTI surrounds us in many forms.

BEAUTI portrayed inside and out. BEAUTI at every age, in every stage of life. BEAUTI of this incredible world we live in. BEAUTI of emotions and feelings of the moment. BEAUTI that cannot be put into words.

    Discovering. Cherishing. Capturing.

Thank you for checking out my blog, feel free to look around and add a comment or send me a note. Sharing life’s BEAUTIs from my perspective…enjoy! Jenelle

With the sunshine lately being only a day or two between rainy days I don’t want to let any beautiful weather pass by without taking a few photos…even if it’s just Mom’s not so cooperative dog as my subject!  She is full of personality!!  We have realized she is quite a different dog from winter to summer.  Unlike me she thrives in the winter!  Loves to be outside even more.  Bounds thru the snow.  Races to the top of snow piles.  Her hair is left long and you see a little furball tearing up the snow.  So here’s the little summer pup on a sunny evening last week.

*Robin Egg Blue*

It has been wayyy too long since I’ve posted.  I blame it partly on the wet weather and also moving is a LOT of work!  Packing, unpacking, the long drives between Cochrane + Tribune, paperwork and phone calls…..it all takes so much time, but the benefits of living in the country will be well worth it!!  We appreciate the wonderful welcome we have received in this area.  It has been really nice catching up with long time friends and glad to make new connections.  Here’s hoping for many warm, sunny evenings for great photo adventures soon!

Something we have noticed since moving is there are so many birds around.  I love waking up to hear the sound of birds chirping + singing outside the window.  And to find robin egg blue in a perfect little nest.

*Simply Bloom Workshop* Part II

If the sun hadn’t have been going down over the mountains and we weren’t feeling the chill of the desert evening I think we could have shot forever.  I would love to photograph in the Nevada desert again, it’s so fun to shoot in a new environment.  More of the goodness that the creative ladies from Simply Bloom Photography and Green Wedding Shoes created for the workshop styled session.  The teepee was incredible!

*Simply Bloom Workshop* Part I

I discovered Simply Bloom Photography a while before starting my own photography business and was enthralled by their  beautiful images.  So it was a real honor to meet Christine + Vania and attend their fantastic workshop in Vegas last month.    The highlight of the day was a styled photo shoot in the desert and watching these creative ladies in action.  Christine + Vania created an inspiration board and Jen from Green Wedding Shoes styled the shoot so amazingly!  The planning, creativity, preparation of this shoot, posing + directing of the couple was all done by these 3 talented ladies…..I was just one of the lucky ones to be able to shoot by their sides.  Photographing a real life couple, Brady + Krysta.  In the desert.  It was magical.  The best word to describe it I need to borrow from Vania…it was GLORIOUS!

*Las Vegas*

I do not embrace all of what Vegas is and has to offer but my first trip to visit this dazzling city was a blast!  A few days with my wonderful friend, Carla…..touring the magnificient hotels along the Strip, shopping, fabulous shows (The Lion King & O ~ definitely recommend!), many Starbucks stops and a lot of walking.

Then a day spent with Christine + Vania of Simply Bloom Photography…..more on that right away.  And 3 days at WPPI with my friend Melissa who is a photographer in northern California.  Who I hadn’t seen for at least 4 years, so getting together was much overdue!  WPPI is incredible, I loved all the classes we attended…my favorites were Elizabeth Messina and Jose Villa, so inspiring!!  Walking thru the massive tradeshow where hundreds of vendors display their products created a lot of excitement.  WPPI is an amazing environment…..thousands of talented artists attend, learning from top professionals in our industry and seeing the newest technology + products available.  Amazing, inspiring, motivating.  So educational.  And a little overwhelming, in a really good way.

WPPI is the largest annual expo and conference in the United States for professional photographers and took place at the MGM.  All previous attendance records were broken, over 16,000 people attended!  It’s definitely in my plans to attend again next year.
