• hello and welcome!

What does BEAUTI mean to you?

beau-ty (n.pl.) Any of those attributes of form, sound, color, character, behavior, achievement, etc., which give pleasure and gratification to the senses or to the mind. Something excellent of its kind.

BEAUTI is more than physical attractiveness. BEAUTI surrounds us in many forms.

BEAUTI portrayed inside and out. BEAUTI at every age, in every stage of life. BEAUTI of this incredible world we live in. BEAUTI of emotions and feelings of the moment. BEAUTI that cannot be put into words.

    Discovering. Cherishing. Capturing.

Thank you for checking out my blog, feel free to look around and add a comment or send me a note. Sharing life’s BEAUTIs from my perspective…enjoy! Jenelle

*Girls With Curls* Part 2

I’m sad that our weather is changing…we have been super lucky this month for such great weather!  It was warmer the other day when I photographed these cute, curly-haired girls again than it was for back in early November when we took some photos.

All nicely tanned from their vacation in Palm Springs and full of energy there were lots of silly comments, funny faces and sweet smiles.

*Candy Apples*

The most delicious caramel apples.  The right amount of sweet with the sour apples.  So pretty.  So colorful.  Just perfect for our party. My wonderful friend was so kind to volunteer her time and artistic ability to create these delicious works of art.  Thank you Lisette!

We hosted my oldest sister’s 30th birthday last weekend.  With us 4 sisters all about a year apart, we have a few more 30 celebrations ahead of us!

We’re off to Banff for another milestone birthday celebration, this time with our other family.  Hope this makes you run off to the store for apples, caramel and candy!

*Happy New Year*

Happy New Year……All the best in 2010!

Thank you to my wonderful clients, to my family + friends for your support and for the encouragement + guidance from other photographic artists in 2009.  I have learned so much in these past months…a year ago today I could not have predicted that this is where I would be at.  And now into another year.  With lots of room to grow and improve.

“We spend January 1 walking thru our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.  Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk thru the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.”  ~ Ellen Goodman

A year ago today, my husband and I were traveling.  We were in Bali, Indonesia.  We spent a few hours one very, very hot + humid afternoon walking (with our backpacks) around Kuta trying to find a hotel room.  We finally gave in to a pesky motorbike tout and paid way too much for a room, but at least we had a spot to put our things.  Our things were safe on the floor until the early, early morning…when torrential rains started.  The pounding rain that you can’t sleep thru.  And then you start to wonder what will keep the rain out of your hotel room.  We checked out the back door and there was a ditch there which seemed promising.  The rains continued and it started to creep under the door, across the floor.  Our bed became our island.  We were surrounded by water.  As soon as there was light we ventured out in the rain…off on a boat to Lembongan Island.  We were glad to be away from the busiest area we had encountered in Bali.  It was quiet and peaceful at our bungalow.  Until midnite, then repeatedly for the next 3 hours we heard ABBA’s ‘Happy New Year’.  And about the time they shut it down was probably when the roosters started their happy song.  Now that I’ve actually figured out the song they had on repeat, here’s a link if you’d like to have the song stuck in your head for the next year: \”Happy New Year by ABBA\”.

If you get the chance…go!  I’d love to go back.

I wish I could tell you these images were taken today.  But we’re only reading in our travel journal…New Years Eve…and reminiscing.  And thankful for another year filled with experiences that have taught me so much.

Sarah Spadafora - This looks awesome I love this one Jenelle!!

*Kyle, Lisette and Fynnegan*

Stepping back in time.  Maybe leaping, back in time.  To fit into a decade as best we can understand and be a part of it.

And stepped into a place that absorbed us in that time and frame of mind.  I was amazed.  It was different for them yet they were so comfortable.  It felt so real.  I felt I was observing a family of that time.

Thanks for your creativity, planning and enthusiasm for the 40’s…it really made for an amazing photo shoot.  And the afternoon flew by!

You have been incredible friends, we love and appreciate each of you so much.  Have fun sharing your images as Christmas gifts…a meaningful, personal gift.  And I have loved my part in it.

Some things are hard to describe with words…we will let the images tell the story…and take you back in time.

And then a little snow fell…so magical.

SYNONYMOUSLY JOYFUL! (Sharing the very kind email Lisette sent to me when they were partway thru looking at the images in their gallery):

Hello dearest,

Our photos are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIful!!!!!!!!   It feels like the further we got into the shoot both Kyle and I gained more confidence, stunning really.  I have tried picking out my favorites, but I found myself choosing almost every photo.  I can’t wait to see the rest!  You are going to have to help us pick photos… there are way too many to choose from.  They are all so fabulous!  It would be nice to have input on the photos you enjoy the most, than we can figure out which ones would be best received as gifts.
You brought out the BEST in us!

P.S   Your Website is amazingly simple to use and fabulously efficient.  Wonderful…Gorgeous …magnificent…. outstanding….I think I covered most of the synonyms for beautiful….I don’t think my excitement can be fully expressed via email.
