• hello and welcome!

What does BEAUTI mean to you?

beau-ty (n.pl.) Any of those attributes of form, sound, color, character, behavior, achievement, etc., which give pleasure and gratification to the senses or to the mind. Something excellent of its kind.

BEAUTI is more than physical attractiveness. BEAUTI surrounds us in many forms.

BEAUTI portrayed inside and out. BEAUTI at every age, in every stage of life. BEAUTI of this incredible world we live in. BEAUTI of emotions and feelings of the moment. BEAUTI that cannot be put into words.

    Discovering. Cherishing. Capturing.

Thank you for checking out my blog, feel free to look around and add a comment or send me a note. Sharing life’s BEAUTIs from my perspective…enjoy! Jenelle

*Shauna* Mini Session

It was cold so we made this a quick shoot.  My Dad has an old shed in the yard which he is planning to knock down soon.  I thought it would make for a fun photo shoot location…the roof planks falling down, interesting textures, lots of light from many angles.  Warmer temperatures would have made it more enjoyable…thanks to my lovely, adventurous sister we toughed it out for a bit!  I had to add one photo with kitty, she really wanted to be a part of the shoot.

*Holga Results*

At the Red Leaf workshop I attended in Victoria a few weeks ago we were given a Holga camera for our day on Salt Spring Island.  It has been at least 5 years since I have captured an image on film.  What a great gift…it definitely makes you really focus on the capture.  And to think differently.  The anticipation of sending the roll of film away and wait for prints really adds to the fun, not knowing what to expect.  Here are a few shots from my first roll.  I’m excited to take out my Holga again soon!

I just scanned these in on my own computer so there is detail missing that is visible on the actual prints.

*Carla + Shane, Teagan and Tyler*

Sometimes the forecast out here is not the weather you get…but for Saturday the forecast of snow, wet snow was unfortunately the weather that came our way.  I had very brave clients to still want to come out for their session!

Carla, I am so glad that our paths crossed back in July.  The more I get to know you, the more I absolutely love being around you.  It was great to meet your wonderful man and sweet kids…and to capture the BEAUTIful people you are!  Thanks for braving out the chilly, snowy weather!

*Fall*

Here’s a couple images I am enjoying of the stunning fall colors in Cochrane. They were taken during a session last week in a great location that was new to me, just a short walk across a chilly stream…and so worth it for the photos! My favorite season is summer (other than it is WAY too short) and fall is always sad because I know that winter and temperatures far below my comfort level are coming…this year, I am trying to embrace the BEAUTI of fall’s colors.
