When it’s a birthday that marks the start of a new decade, I had ideas of how it needed to be celebrated. Although it wasn’t Paris, Italy or an island in the Caribbean. And waking up in Minot may not have been my favorite idea. We were out of the country like I said I wanted to be. And it was the start of our roadtrip to Minneapolis. To beautiful lake country and the City of Lakes. Time away, with just my husband, no real schedule, new places to explore, a bit of shopping and making new friends. We went downtown Minneapolis for a celebration dinner (we highly recommend Crave!). Driving along the riverfront, there are an incredible number of bridges with a fascinating variety of designs crossing the Mississippi River. More bridges are across the Mississippi River there than any other river community. I really loved the parts of the city we were able to see. I kept thinking as we drove past fabulous old buildings it would be such a fun urban setting for a photo session! Next time.
Had to capture the sky as we drove along on my birthday
Jamestown, home of another favorite antique shop!
Salem Sue, the world’s largest Holstein cow – 38′ high, 50′ long and 12,000 pounds
North Dakota badlands, amazing scenery and definitely a spot to explore more another time!
