We had a wonderful getaway at the beginning of the month to the beautiful city of Vancouver. We celebrated our 9th anniversary then enjoyed time with my younger sister and also my cousin + her family. Of course there was rain but we did luck out with nearly 2 days of no rain and even a stunning sunrise one morning. The first hotel we stayed at has complimentary bicycle rentals so even in the pouring rain the first day we cycled all around Stanley Park, English Bay, Granville Island and some of downtown. The bonus was the bike paths were pretty much just ours! So the next morning when it wasn’t raining I requested to bike again around Stanley Park when I could actually take photos on my camera. Good thing we put on the miles because we scouted out some great restaurants, gluten free treats and scrumptious waffles for breakfast. Eating is part of the fun of being away as we rarely eat out when we are at home. Of course the restaurants right by the ocean were our favorite dining experiences!
A couple interesting, fun places we went were the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park where we really enjoyed time up in the treetops and then headed back downtown to even greater heights at the Vancouver Lookout. It was the end of the day so we took in the 360 views late in the afternoon then stayed up to see the lights of downtown at dusk too. With the rainy weather I didn’t have my camera sometimes but here’s some of what I captured in our time away to the westcoast.
