I’m excited to carry on from last week’s blog post of Kelton + Jo’s pre-wedding shoot with their Big Island wedding! It was an absolutely beautiful wedding day!!! As you can see, they were married in paradise. Tropical paradise! On an oceanfront property that feels like a wonderful oasis! Their wedding was filled with lots of stunning details and above all so much love and excitement to be married!! As I shared in the last post, Jo is a fashion designer and owns Cedar and Vine. So take special notice of the wedding party outfits that were all her designs. It was one of the many details that really stood out and was unique about their wedding. The textures were amazing!
We had our fingers crossed that the forecasted 90% chance of rain was just a generalization of Hilo being the rainy side of the island. However a big storm hit the island that weekend and there were numerous downpours throughout the day. So the location Jo envisioned for their first look down the cliff was too hazardous. And then rising water levels prevented us from going to others nearby. But their gorgeous property worked out so well! We found a private area for an intimate, sweet first look. Everyone was amazing to grab umbrellas as needed and fully enjoyed the wonderful, love-filled day! I’m very grateful for everyone’s cooperation to dash out when the weather let up and truly enjoying the day to the fullest!! Thankfully after a short weather delay the outdoor ceremony carried on as planned. With the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. Their ceremony was touching and personalized with heartfelt vows they read to one another. The sun started to come out as the ceremony was finishing and a rainbow appeared as they exited. Sealing their promises! It was breathtaking and such an incredible beginning to their marriage.
Following the ceremony it was sweet to have an ice cream truck pull in the yard and a cart full of coconuts grown on the property for everyone to enjoy! There was a clear tent set up for the reception, strung with pretty lights that added a sparkle to the evening. And the meal and desserts were delicious followed by hilarious speeches and beautiful music. The kind of speeches that had people crying from laughter!! It was entertaining and fun along with many compliments for the wonderful couple!
It was very special to share in and capture this delightful Big Island wedding day! And we’re glad that for all the years these two families have been very close friends that now a marriage has connected them! Congratulations newlyweds!! We wish you many, many years of happiness, love and fun adventures together!
