Wishing you have a wonderful, safe and fun holiday season!!
Last Christmas Eve we headed out to the mountains as we were in Alberta and our days spent with family were after Christmas. Hiking at Lake Minnewanka was the perfect way to spend Christmas Day!! Lots of fresh air, beautiful scenery to take in and time together just the two of us. The views along the lake are stunning, especially with the reflections!
I’m excited to share more of this wonderful ranch engagement photo shoot! Roy and Lauren got engaged in late September on a fall adventure to Glacier National Park. On that crazy weather weekend that turned into a snowy wonderland in some places! It was a getaway of surprises!! On a hike surrounded by nature’s beauty, Roy proposed with this gorgeous custom-designed engagement ring! Later that week, I went for a check up to the dental clinic where Lauren works and we met for the first time. I instantly liked Lauren’s friendly, outgoing personality. It made for a fun appointment hearing all about their exciting weekend away and initial plans for their wedding!! There was a lot of thought being put into their special day already! I left a card but wasn’t expecting to hear from them as a couple photographers had already been contacted so receiving a message of kind words that evening was a happy surprise for me. Meeting the cowboy that totally adores her a few days later was great and I’m very honored they chose me to be their wedding photographer!
We’ll be back at this picturesque location in June for their wedding day. It’s a beautiful setting with meaning for them as they spend a lot of time here at the ranch and with the horses. From how enjoyable their ranch engagement session was, I know they will have an amazing wedding day! These two really made my job easy and fun with how happy, excited and in love they are! Congratulations Roy + Lauren!!
The colors of the Okanagan Valley in autumn is spectacular!! Spending time there in October was a bonus to have an extension of this beautiful, colorful season. It was a busy and fun time together. Packing, moving, unpacking. But we also made time for a sisters and back-to-school photo shoot of my sweet nieces. With all the pretty fall colors in their new backyard. Along with a scenic drive in Lake Country. Stopping by a vineyard, enjoying the vibrant scenery and driving along the lake where this house with the bright yellow tree caught my eye. There have been lots of changes for these girls the past few months moving provinces and it’s nice to see that they are very happy in their new home and schools. I don’t usually get to see them two months in a row so it’s pretty nice that I just got to see them again!! I’m looking forward to a summer visit when we can spend our days at the beach and on the lake!
Photographing Maegan and her three beautiful, blonde-haired daughters was lovely! They were just so sweet!! Seeing bonds like theirs is heartwarming and helped to block out the strong prairie wind. It was a bit tricky to get schedules to align with nice, fall weather but we lucked out with a sunny morning on a day that the girls were off school. They drove out to one of my favorite locations in the Tribune area. A rustic, abandoned farmyard that I especially like using in the fall. Sweet gals in golden surroundings!! They were wonderful and fun to photograph! Getting messages after sending their gallery that they are the most beautiful pictures they’ve ever had taken and that they were captured perfectly had me teary-eyed. I’m so glad that was the end result and am excited to share more now on here from their session!
This gorgeous evening at the ranch with Bill + Jayne was fantastic! They are wonderful people and truly so kind and thoughtful. Horses are majestic animals and I love when they are included in photo shoots. The interaction of horse and experienced rider is amazing to watch. This is how Bill enjoys to spend time, out horseback riding in the pasture. I was anticipating this photo shoot after a gift certificate was purchased for their husband + fathers birthday gift. A gift that is a wonderful keepsake! We had beautiful fall colors and much greener grass than typical with all the rain. Their ranch is such a pretty location. A tidy, well-taken care of yard with lots of nice trees and then the creek running through the pasture. No wonder they really enjoy spending time at home!! A little ride out into the pasture and being under the big prairie sky sure is peaceful. The photos of the creek crossing and reflections are some of my favorites! It was a great time at the ranch capturing this cowboy completely in his element!!
